Walt Disney Imagineering has announced that the "mom and dad" opossum figures have returned to their original location at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Walt Disney World. The rest of the opossum family is expected to follow soon.
The figures were removed during a lengthy refurbishment of the roller coaster completed earlier this year. Reports indicated that the animals were removed because they did not pass a clearance test, posing a potential risk to guests or the ride mechanism.
Imagineering shared photos of the installation process, confirming the characters are being placed back in the tree where they were originally located before the ride's refurbishment.
