Disneyland is working to convert its historic Autopia attraction from gas-powered engines to electric as required by the California Air Resources Board. The transition is currently mandated to be completed by February 1, 2027.

According to a report from The New York Times, the conversion will involve electrifying the attraction's track itself rather than installing traditional batteries in individual vehicles. This approach aims to fulfill emissions compliance requirements while maintaining the ride's operation.

Corporate sponsor Honda, whose agreement currently runs through early 2027, remains involved in the transition. While Disney has not officially confirmed when or if the attraction will temporarily close during the switchover, the project remains part of broader ongoing efforts to update the Tomorrowland area.
