The Walt Disney Company CEO Josh D’Amaro recently visited several major construction sites at Walt Disney World to observe ongoing expansion progress. His visit included tours of the developing Tropical Americas at Animal Kingdom, the Monstropolis expansion at Hollywood Studios, and the construction site for Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge.
Tropical Americas, scheduled to open in 2027, will feature a new Encanto-themed ride, a carousel, and an indoor thrill ride titled Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, which will replace the former DINOSAUR attraction. Construction on the Maya pyramid entrance for the new Indiana Jones ride is currently underway.
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Monstropolis expansion is also set for a 2027 opening. Phase 1 will include a theater show, table service and quick service dining locations, and a gift shop, with an indoor suspended roller coaster expected to follow in a later phase.
