Disney has shared the first concept art for the reimagined Convention Center at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, giving guests a look at the finishes and furnishings coming to one of Walt Disney World's largest meeting venues.
Inspired by Spain, Mexico, and the American Southwest
According to Disney, the Convention Center and the adjoining El Centro spaces are being reimagined by Walt Disney Imagineering with updated finishes and furnishings inspired by "the vibrant cultures and natural landscapes of Spain, Mexico, and the American Southwest" — a nod to the resort's existing architectural identity.
A Phased Refurbishment
The project was previously confirmed to run from August 10, 2026, through late September 2027, with the El Centro Corridor and surrounding areas receiving related work. Importantly, the Convention Center will remain open and fully operational throughout, with construction phased and coordinated around event schedules and much of the work carried out overnight to limit disruption for guests and meeting attendees.
The concept art offers the clearest picture yet of how the resort plans to modernize its convention offerings while preserving the theming that has defined Coronado Springs since it opened.
