Disneyland and Walt Disney World are focusing on operational efficiency to improve the guest experience. According to Natalie Katzka, Director of Attractions Engineering Services at Disneyland Resort, these efforts resulted in 1.5 million more rides provided to guests during the last fiscal year.
The initiative involves categorizing maintenance into overnight safety checks, scheduled refurbishments, and addressing unplanned downtime. Maintenance teams are focused on maximizing capacity by testing new flow approaches at load and unload stations, such as those implemented at Space Mountain.
Recent work on the Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland, which reopened in late October 2026, includes both guest-facing aesthetic repairs and internal engineering modifications. These behind-the-scenes adjustments have increased the ride's capacity by approximately 125 people per hour.
