Jared Bush, Walt Disney Animation Studios Chief Creative Officer, confirmed the development of a new television special based on the world of The Princess and the Frog. The project is currently in active production and will feature new songs and members of the original cast.
The upcoming release is described as a full, standalone story rather than an ongoing series. While details regarding the specific plot and the returning cast members have not yet been revealed, it is expected to premiere on Disney+ in the future.
This special follows the cancellation of a previously planned Tiana animated series, which was shelved in March 2025.
