While fans have often speculated about a potential holiday overlay at Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney Imagineering has clarified that no such changes are currently planned. However, the park’s Haunted Mansion does contain a permanent, subtle connection to the 1993 film.

In a recent post by the official Walt Disney Imagineering Instagram account, staff identified an homage to The Nightmare Before Christmas located within the library scene of the attraction. A Senior Illusion Developer for Walt Disney Imagineering confirmed that a specific stack of books serves as a tribute to the film.

Historically, the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay featuring characters like Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie has been exclusive to Disneyland Park and Tokyo Disneyland. Walt Disney World has not provided an official explanation as to why this overlay has never been installed in Florida.
