Walt Disney World cast members recently participated in a traditional beam-signing ceremony at the construction site for the upcoming Monsters, Inc. roller coaster. The new attraction is the headliner for the Monstropolis land expansion at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The signed beam will serve as a structural support for the coaster track within the ride's indoor facility. This gesture marks a symbolic milestone in the development of the new attraction, which is designed to emulate the door vault chase sequence from the 2001 film.
The Monstropolis expansion is planned in phases, with the initial phase scheduled to debut in 2027. This phase will feature new dining options and an indoor theater show before the subsequent launch of the coaster.
