Scaffolding surrounding The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios has revealed a new 'scar' feature. The detail, which features dark purple shading and white highlights, represents the lightning strike central to the attraction's fictional backstory.

The tower has been undergoing refurbishment since the spring of 2026, including repainting the building's pink facade. While construction continues on the upper levels of the structure, the ride remains open for guests.

Disney has not announced any upcoming closures for the attraction. Work began earlier this year with maintenance on the outdoor queue before moving to the main tower facade.
